Ainslie Willson is a writer, poet and designer working from the foothills of North Carolina. Her work moves between the essay, the poem, the photograph and the made object, and all of it returns to the same question: what does it look like to give every gift back to the God who gave it?

Overgrown Altar is her answer in public. It is a place to take the great secular minds seriously enough to show where they broke, to make beautiful things without apology, and to gather people who would rather discern than perform. The altar is overgrown because it was abandoned. It is being tended again.
