What We Believe

A plain statement, so that every reader knows where we stand before we speak.

I

The Living God

We believe in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. The universe is not a closed machine running on impersonal law; it is the sustained thought of its Maker. Its order is His faithfulness, and its laws are the consistent habits of a sovereign God.

For in Him all things hold together. · Colossians i · xvii
II

Christ, Crucified and Risen

We believe Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, crucified for our sins and bodily raised on the third day. The resurrection is not an exception to reality but its deepest law: life, light and incorruptibility are what is ultimately real, and decay and death are temporary, destined to be overwritten.

Now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. · 1 Corinthians xv · xx
III

The Surrendered Life

We believe true power is not self-exaltation but dying to the self to inherit divine authority. The longing to transcend human weakness is fulfilled only by the Holy Spirit, never by the fragile ego. We build without tools of pride.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. · Galatians ii · xx
IV

Image Bearers and Makers

We believe every person bears the image of God, and that human imagination is a reflection of the Imago Dei. Story and myth are not projections of the psyche; the Gospel is the True Myth, the archetype that stepped into time, flesh and stone. Every craft offered to Him is worship, and beauty belongs entirely to the Living God.

And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in all manner of workmanship. · Exodus xxxi · iii
V

Discernment, Deliverance and the Prophetic

We believe the spiritual realm is real and that Christ has triumphed over every principality and power. We believe the Spirit still speaks, and that prophetic and discerning gifts are given to strengthen His people. Every word is weighed against Scripture and offered with humility; none is above testing.

Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God. · 1 John iv · i

The Word

We receive the Holy Scriptures as the inspired Word of God. They judge every word on this site, our own first of all.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God. · 2 Timothy iii · xvi

In Him all things hold together.

Colossians i · xvii
